A white on white cotton Apron

Detail of a white on white cotton Apron embroidered with broderie anglaise style motifs of flowers and scallops. Made by Marie Krejcova in Bohemia around 1955

Our collection is part of the heritage values and responsibilities of the Guild.

We believe strongly in conserving important pieces of needlework. Our Collection includes pieces by early Canberra and Australian embroiderers.

It’s also an important research archive for members as it includes examples of a wide range of embroidery techniques including ones that are at risk of being lost because they’re no longer practised.

An interesting feature of the collection is the range of ethnic and international embroidery styles included.

Some pieces from the Collection are always included in a special display at the Annual Exhibition
