Lifeline Craft Book Sale 5-8 Nov

Lifeline Canberra weren’t able to hold their usual book fairs in the back half of the year, and instead have opened the Booklovers’ Lane book shop at Fyshwick markets. If you have been looking for an excuse to check it out, they will be having a craft book sale between 5 and 8 November. All types of craft will be covered, including Embroidery and all kinds of other Textile and non-Textile craft.

Guild Raffle on now

Help support the Guild by buying tickets in our raffle!

Given that we were unable to have an exhibition this year, we have decided to hold an online raffle to try to raise some money for the Guild. We have some lovely prizes on offer. Tickets are $2 each, with extra value packages also available. The raffle will be drawn on Monday 7th December.

RNCAS Spring Craft Challenge

The Canberra Show organised the RNCAS Spring Craft Challenge, giving members an opportunity to share some of the work that they had done during the lockdown. Entries were photographed and displayed online. Follow this link to see the results!

2020 Royal Canberra Show Crafts Expo

The Guild had a stand at the Needlework Section of the Crafts Expo at the Canberra Show, 28 February to 1 March.


Golden Wattle patterns for sale
In May 2015 the Embroiderers’ Guild ACT was commissioned to embroider a specially developed Golden Wattle design on a blanket that was the official gift from the people of Australia, for HRH Princess Charlotte. After completing this commission, the ‘Blanket Embroidery Team’ went on to develop small projects using part of the original design on items that are of interest to stitchers and embroiderers. The projects are a card, a paperweight, a scissor keeper, a trio of pin cushions, a book mark, a needle book. Patterns for these projects are now available from the Embroiderers’ Guild ACT at a cost of $5.00 per pattern (by email) or $6.00 per pattern (printed and posted).       After a great deal of consideration, regrettably, we will not be holding our Exhibition this year. However our members are still busy stitching, so keep watching Facebook and our blog for more activities planned for later in the year.
