I am wondering if possible to have one individual season on smocking – specifically getting started with the dots for pleating. Many thanks

Hi Rhonda
Sorry, we don’t usually do individual lessons. However we have a number of smocking “experts”, so if you’d like to call in on a Monday (excluding Public Holidays), 9.30am – midday, or 6.30 – 8.30pm, you might be able to get some pointers. Visitors are always welcome. We also have a very comprehensive library, however borrowing is only available to members. As it happens, we will be having a demonstration of smocking techniques at our Annual Exhibition in September (see our Events and Exhibitions page for details)
Regards, Gail
Does anyone know where I can buy smocking dots in the Canberra regain please? Maxine
Maxine, I’m told that the smocking dots are really “old school” these days (but I remember them!), however if you can’t find them through any of the local fabric/sewing retailers (or on-line??), maybe you could visit our Annual Exhibition in September (see the Events and Exhibitions tab on the web site), and talk to any of our “smocking expert” members – amongst other things we will be having a demonstration of smocking techniques, old and new.
Cheers, Gail
Sorry I meant region.
