When and Where we Meet

Urgent advice re COVID-19 – 21 March 2020

Dear all

In relation to the coronavirus situation you are probably aware that on Friday the government announced additional social distancing requirements for meetings of less than 100 people. The requirements for gatherings of over 100 people now apply to smaller gatherings. These requirements limit numbers attending meetings to one person for each 4 square metres of room space.

We have limited space at our venue and have reluctantly reached the conclusion that meetings at the Guild rooms will have to be postponed for now.

We know this will be very disappointing for all but our priority is protecting you our members so when this is over we are all healthy and well and can enjoy our Guild in person. In the meantime we are hoping to keep in regular contact with all of you using our Facebook page and emails. We hope to share tips and project suggestions as well as general Guild news.

I hope after Monday we will have more information on how we can all contribute to these updates.

We will make separate arrangements to contact members without email over the next few days.

Please all keep safe and stitching. Remember the gift shop, our next exhibition and the 2021 Royal Canberra Show will all want to see the fruit of your creativity.

The Guild meets at the Hackett Community Centre, 100 Maitland Street, Hackett.

If you’re coming from Limestone Avenue then you turn right into Phillip Avenue and almost immediately left into Stott St then right into Maitland St and follow it until you see the large grey brick complex with blue fascias on your right – this is the Hackett Community Centre.

If you’re coming from Northbourne Avenue then you turn right onto Antill St and then proceed onto Phillip Avenue. Once you’re on Phillip Avenue you turn left onto Stott St and then right onto Maitland St until you see the large grey brick complex with blue fascias on your right – this is the Hackett Community Centre.

Each Week:

We meet every Monday morning and evening. The morning sessions go from 9.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. The evening sessions go from 6.00 – 9.00 p.m. Members bring along their current work, stitch and chat.

If you think you might like to join the Guild, come along to one of our meetings to see if it’s what you’re looking for – this is free and with no obligation to join the Guild.
