Meeting arrangements during COVID June 2022
There are 3 regular meeting sessions on Mondays: 9:30 to 12:00 mornings, 2:00-5:00 afternoons and 6:00-8:30 evenings. Special interest groups and Young Stitchers are meeting at their usual times.
Whilst the Guild rooms are currently open for meetings, we are focused on making sure we provide a safe place for members. We must comply with Covid-19 restrictions relating to room size, including allowing 2 sq metres per person and 1.5 meters space for social distancing. This limits the numbers we can have stitching at any time.
Our Covid policy requires people to be well, with no known or suspected Covid-19 contact, and to comply with social distancing at all times. Masks should be worn in the shared areas of the building. You should sign the Guild attendance book when you arrive. Sanitiser is available. Bring your own mug for tea and coffee breaks. We are not sharing food except for items that are individually wrapped.
For more detail, see Guild Covid-19 Safety Plan May 2022
The Guild meets at the Hackett Community Centre, 100 Maitland Street, Hackett.
If you’re coming from Limestone Avenue then you turn right into Phillip Avenue and almost immediately left into Stott St then right into Maitland St and follow it until you see the large grey brick complex with blue fascias on your right – this is the Hackett Community Centre.
If you’re coming from Northbourne Avenue then you turn right onto Antill St and then proceed onto Phillip Avenue. Once you’re on Phillip Avenue you turn left onto Stott St and then right onto Maitland St until you see the large grey brick complex with blue fascias on your right – this is the Hackett Community Centre.
If you think you might like to join the Guild, come along to one of our Monday meetings to see if it’s what you’re looking for – this is free and with no obligation to join the Guild. At these meetings, members bring along their current work, stitch and chat.
See the Special Interest Groups and Young Stitchers pages for more information about the groups that meet on a monthly basis.
