I am just a hanky as square as can be
But with a few stitches a bonnet I’ll be
One home from the hospital or on a christening day
I’ll carefully be pressed and then be put away
For her wedding day as we all have been told
Every beautiful bride must wear something old
What would be better than to find little me
A few stitches snipped and a hanky I will be
And if it’s a boy some day he much week
She’ll carry the hanky he wore on his head
